Sweet Sixteen

Just to be sweet sixteen
Once again,
With young loves and trusts,
To run wild
With the pack,
Just once more.

To get mad at teeny things
That don't matter;
To forget a pain in a minute,
Since it really is
Just another
Day.

To have parties and get
Grounded
And stomping off to your room,
Yelling out how fair it aint,
Even though that wasn't
The point.

The hardest thing to do now,
Is realize
I have truly grown up.
It's harder than I ever thought,
To be sensible.
